Peace, family.
The thought of a “secret sauce” conjures up some very vivid imagery from me. My mind wanders to thoughts of Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell in Good Burger, fiercely and heroically (with a large side of ridiculousness) protecting Ed’s Secret Sauce from the Mondo Burger goons. Or Plankton’s never-ending quest to discover and replicate the Krabby Patty secret formula. Thank you for briefly tolerating my millennial cringe. Here’s your reward:
This sauce is so good! And I’m giving you the recipe right here, no shenanigans or feats of strength required. Let’s get into some details.
What Ingredients Do I Need for Burger Sauce?
To make this sauce, you will need the following:
- Mayonnaise – real mayo, no dressings.
- Sweet Relish – adds the perfect twang.
- Yellow Mustard – you can get fancy and creative with the type of mustard you use, but for this recipe I stick with regular yellow mustard.
- Garlic – freshly minced garlic takes this sauce over the top!
- Smoked Paprika – for a slight smoky flavor.
- Garlic Powder – fresh garlic anddd garlic powder? yes.
- Onion Powder – we’re adding so much flavor.
- Dried Oregano – for a bit of herby goodness.
- Cayenne Powder – this won’t make your sauce too hot, but will add the perfect spice.
- Chipotle Chili Powder – think chili powder, but with a kick.
- Ketchup – something you probably already have on hand.
Is This Burger Sauce Keto-Friendly?
Yes! Each one tablespoon serving of this sauce contains just one net gram of carbohydrates making it both low-carb and keto-friendly. It’s also gluten-free, with exceptions depending on what brands of ketchup and relish you choose.
How Long Does It Take To Make The Sauce?
This sauce comes together in minutes. The only thing that takes any bit of time is mincing the garlic. I would stick to fresh garlic, and not the stuff that comes in a jar.
It’s More Than Just Burger Sauce
This sauce can also be used for:
- Sandwiches
- Vegetable Trays
- Charcuterie Boards
- Dipping French Fries
- Hamburger Bowls/Salads
How To Make Secret Sauce for Burgers
To make this sauce:
- Begin by mincing the garlic.
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small dish/bowl and stir until well-mixed. Dassit!
You’re seriously going to want to drink this sauce!
